Tucked away in the Portuguese countryside, with stunning views over the Estrela mountains, this recently refurbished lodge is the perfect spot to unplug and unwind. After a wine tasting tour of the Dão region or a day trip to the coast, go for a dip in the private plunge pool or whip up some cocktails in the outdoor bar area. Enjoy dinner alfresco in the outdoor dining space which enjoys wonderful views of the countryside and out to the mountains in the distance. Soak up the scenery late into the evening by lighting the wood burner or retreat indoors to snuggle up in the living room.

The design of Quinta Lagares’ interior creates a sense of calm and space with high ceilings and a neutral colour palette. You’ll be greeted by a large living area with a big comfy sofa and an armchair to snuggle up on and a 55” TV, perfect for relaxed evenings in. This leads through to the bedroom where you’ll find an impressive four-poster bed complete with luxurious bedding and an ensuite shower room.

The outdoor spaces are where Quinta Lagares really comes into its own. Step out through the sliding glass doors in the living room to find the large private plunge pool. A second outdoor space features a recently built restaurant and bar area which has spectacular views of the Serra De Lousa. There’s a dining table in prime position to enjoy the scenery or you can sit back and relax on the comfy seating which is kept cosy in the evenings by a wood burner. For that extra bit of luxury, your hosts can arrange for a full ‘butler service’ during your stay.

There’s plenty to do in the local area and your hosts will be happy to help organise a range of activities for you. Whether you want to explore more of the stunning scenery on foot or get stuck into a bit of culture with art or mosaic classes. You might fancy a wine tasting tour of the famous Dão wine region or a day trip to the seaside. The coastal resort of Figueira Do Foz and the colourful canals of Aveiro are both under an hour away by car.
