Whether it’s balmy evenings in the garden or cosy nights in front of the roaring fire, there is ample room for everyone to come together. Beautifully positioned on the 500 acre Orchardleigh Estate, just ten miles from Bath.
Orchardleigh Castle consists of two impressive battlements separated by the Estate gated North entrance. They are available to book as separate properties for smaller groups of 12 guests or together for larger groups sleeping up to 24.
Both of these impressive properties have been carefully and sympathetically restored, offering stunning period features throughout. From the exquisite flooring to the antique staircases, revel in the history of this wonderful venue, whilst enjoying the spacious, quirky accommodation.
The large traditional kitchens in both battlements are stunning. With extensive cabinets, large island, state of the art Range Cooker. Fully equipped with high end appliances including a microwave – they are functional as well as beautiful. There are fully equipped laundry/drying rooms just off the kitchens. The open plan dining areas make for the ideal place to gather and cook – be it a full English breakfast or more formal supper. Everything you could possibly need is waiting for you. The double french doors ensure you can enjoy the rather fabulous views.
The grand sitting rooms boast original tiled floors and handsome wood panelling, furnished with leather sofas – one of which can easily be converted to a double bed. There is also a large stone fireplace with a working wood burning stove. Bespoke chandeliers are a feature of the room. Gather round to watch the television or play games in front of the fire. Whichever you choose to do, this is a lovely, comfortable space.
Sleeping up to 12 in each property, the bedrooms are comfortable and cosy, traditionally decorated, working with the features of the battlements. You can expect crisp bed linen, complimentary toiletries and comfy bath robes. Peek out the windows for views across this stunning estate.
Outside you are treated to exquisite, informal gardens. Relax in the hot tub or enjoy eating alfresco in the outdoor dining area making the most of this outside space, until the sun goes down and beyond! The views from here are stunning and really make the perfect backdrop to your evening soiree.
Orchardleigh castle is located in the most magical position. Whether you choose to relax in your own garden or take a stroll through the grounds, it’s a picturesque spot. The stunning city of Bath is just ten miles away, if you find time to venture out. With striking architecture, historic spas and plenty of pubs and restaurants to choose from, it’s a great city to explore.
A round of golf can be booked directly with Orchardleigh Golf and Country Club, or why not enquire about taking a helicopter ride above the stunning Somerset countryside?
The Peacock Restaurant is a lovely stroll away from the castle. The restaurant is fully licensed and adjacent to the Golf and Country Club. This area can be booked for exclusive use. Please do not hesitate to enquire direct to the Golf Club. For gatherings of 12 or more we can accommodate private dining at The Peacock as each side will only accommodate seating for 10-12 guests.
