Perched on the periphery of the Oakside Lodge Hotel, this extraordinary treehouse offers guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in the beauty of the Kentish countryside while staying in a comfortable and stylish chalet-style space. Built into a beautiful and historic oak, and benefitting from the light and airy atmosphere you'd expect from a high end treehouse, Oakside Tree Tops is the ultimate accommodation solution for individual travellers or couples looking to spend time in rural Kent while staying in a truly special and unique space.

Accessed via steps, the treehouse boasts its own large timber decking area, the perfect spot for a cup of coffee in the morning, or to while away the afternoons with a book and a bottle of local beer. Inside the space itself, clever design and a no-compromise approach have been successful in creating a place that feels both cosy and spacious.

From inside, you can look out over the diverse woodlands below, and take in sunlight long into the evening. The treehouse is arranged on an open plan basis, with an ultra-comfortable double bed and sofa, as well as the facilities to make tea and coffee. The property is fully plumbed and wired, with a Freeview-equipped flat screen TV, and a hot shower in the bathroom. Outside, part of the trunk of the oak has been re-fashioned as a bench, where many guests choose to take their meals, or sit with a game of chess for a lengthy conversation. Inside, there is speedy broadband WiFi to keep you connected for social, business or entertainment purposes.

Situated just three miles from the historic centre of Canterbury, one of England's most beautiful and charming historic cities, the treehouse at Oakside Lodge is ideally placed for guests looking to combine the pretty forests of Kent with the cultural amenities of the city. Whether you're interested in architecture, regional history, international cuisine, shopping or the bar and club scene, Canterbury offers it all.

Closer to the treehouse, you'll find a range of hiking trails through the woods, many taking you close to the rare birds which draw birdwatchers from all over the world. While the area offers a range of great eateries and cheery pubs offering local ale and brilliant food, the best breakfast to be had in the region is right at the Oakside Lodge Hotel itself, where the owners serve a fantastic full English breakfast, with sausages and bacon from the pigs they farm themselves just beyond the treehouse.

My husband and I stayed in the treehouse to celebrate a special birthday. We had a wonderful time and we found the whole experience relaxing, calm and extremely well managed. Stuart was a brilliant host and was always available to answer questions or give advice. I would highly recommend this accommodation if you want a trip where you can get away from everyday stresses and spend quality time with a loved one.
