Gorgeous Grade II listed farmhouse offering large groups an idyllic place to stay in the heart of the Cotswolds.
This marvellously renovated Grade II listed farmhouse is tucked away in eight beautiful acres of private gardens and paddocks. Situated in the heart of the charming Cotswolds, it offers large groups of up to 19 guests a fabulous place to relax and unwind together.
The home oozes rustic charm thanks to whitewashed walls and exposed beams throughout. Add to this the warming log burning fireplace and jacuzzi hot tub, and you’ve got yourself an idyllic retreat for friends and family.
The heart of this home is surely the sociable kitchen dining room. This glorious space is a budding chef’s dream and was designed by Johnny Grey. When it comes to meal prep, the kitchen is fully equipped with a Gaggenau oven, two combination ovens, a steam oven and a sub zero freezer. So you’ll be able to whip up plenty of delicious feasts for your loved ones during your stay. The kitchen also features a cosy seating area with a big TV and a Sky package, whilst the dining alcove seats 16 (extending to 20) making big social meal times a joy.
After dinner, retire to the sitting room with its beautiful beams, stone flooring and warming inglenook fireplace. There’s another TV here, with a full Sky package, so you can settle in for a movie night or box set marathon, or switch the tele off and while away hours catching up with old friends.
When the weather’s warm, you’ll want to spend time in your marvellous garden. Here there is a giant lawn where you can spread out and play - the owners have provided croquet, badminton and Jenga, and there’s also a table tennis table which is situated in one of the outbuildings. Also outside is some lovely alfresco seating and dining furniture as well as a large Kadai/BBQ/Firepit with plenty of logs.
The garden is also where you’ll find the luxurious jacuzzi hot tub, offering you a delightful spot for an indulgent soak after a day exploring the surrounding villages and countryside.
When it comes to bedtime, the house sleeps up to 19 guests across bedrooms, arranged over three floors, most of which offer superb views over the Cotswold countryside. The master bedroom boasts an emperor bed, seating area and a luxurious ensuite with both a bath and shower. The rest of the bedrooms offer a mix of double, super-king and single beds, ensuring flexibility for larger groups. Two of the second-floor bedrooms, connected by a door, form a family suite, although note that the spiral staircases may be steep for elderly guests or very young children.
If you want to venture out and explore the local area, there’s lots to see and do. Blenheim Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill and home to the 12th Duke and Duchess of Marlborough. Open year-round, it features magnificent architecture, landscaped gardens by Capability Brown and hosts events like Countryfile Live. Nearby, the picturesque town of Burford is known for its mediaeval bridge, Tudor and Georgian houses and rich history as a wool town. Don't miss a visit to Woodstock Ingredients, a local deli run by Caroline, or Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens, a family favourite. For dining, try The Royal Oak at Ramsden or grab a beer and pizza from Church Hanbrewary nearby.
