La Petite is a lovingly converted old mazot that has been beautifully reclaimed and styled, just like the main chalet itself. Fur cushions and throws abound, there is gnarly old wood everywhere and hints of the building’s former existence, but it is now super-cosy and the perfect mini-chalet for a small group.
La Petite Ferme brims with Alpine chic. Think fur throws, cow skins, giant twig-framed mirrors and old milk churns converted into lamps. There are cow- and deer-themed ornaments and knick knacks everywhere, plus old skis on the walls.
The mazot has three double bedrooms. Two have en suite bathrooms and the third is open plan with a separate shower room. Each is fabulously stylish and impossibly cute, with cow or deer themed knickknacks and Cowshed toiletries. The mazot has its own private hot tub.
La Petite Ferme is either a self-catered (summer only) or fully catered ski chalet (winter). It has a well-appointed kitchen which is open plan to the living area, but a private chef and host can be arranged or, if booked alongside Ferme du Lac Vert, guests can dine next door in the main chalet.
La Petite Ferme is situated in Montriond, a small hamlet right next to Morzine. It is just seven minutes by the chalet’s private transport to the Ardent bubble or five minutes in to Morzine itself.Geneva airport is just 1hr 15 minutes away, so the mazot is ideal for short breaks or long weekends. Airport transfers can be arranged, at an extra cost.
Morzine is located in the vast Portes du Soleil ski area which has a huge amount of skiing and absolutely something for everyone. It boasts 650km of pistes. The Pleney lift is the main, central lift for Morzine and Les Gets where most of the ski schools are based, and there is a state of the art new Prodains lift for accessing the Avoriaz side of the ski area.
Morzine is a delightful old town with plenty of charming shopping on offer. Non-skiers can also go snow-shoe walking in the valley along pretty marked trails, go on husky rides or they can meet their skier friends for lunch on the mountain (some restaurants lay on skidoos for non-skiers or are accessible on foot). There are also a few lovely spas nearby, great restaurants in Morzine to check out, plus an ice-skating rink, an indoor rink for professional ice hockey, a cinema and even a great new swimming pool centre all in town.
