Nestled in a peaceful exquisite expanse of rolling gardens, the Iglu is a one of a kind tiny-home style space, available to rent as a self-catered holiday home. Benefitting from high-end design inside and out, and constructed from larch by Estonian master craftsmen; the Iglu is unique and makes for the ultimate romantic getaway in the Somerset countryside.
The Iglu sits on an ancient estate in a rural area of Drayton, characterised by chirping birds, clear skies overhead and acres of flora. The Iglu itself is perched in a clearing made private by shaped hedges and benefits from a slab patio and picnic bench, as well as of course the wood-fired hot tub.
Internally, the structure is deceptively spacious, with a fully fitted kitchen, ultra cosy bed in a nook and fully plumbed-in bathroom. The timber ceilings come up as beautiful arches and the interiors have been finished in gleaming white. The moment you step inside this idyllic and romantic wooden house, you'll instantly feel at home, with the property packed with charming features and characteristics.
The bed benefits from a large picture window, the bathroom is spacious and well-equipped and you have more than enough room for a couple to work, relax or get on with projects on rainy days without getting in one another's way. In the warmer months, spend all day hiking the local paths, checking out some fantastic nearby pubs and exploring the region in full bloom. In the colder months, snuggle up inside with a good book and a bottle of wine, and bundle up to stroll around the grounds in their winter majesty.
Guests staying at the Iglu tend to spend their time exploring the charming local area, with its unspoiled hikes, rural pubs and ancient history. For city dwellers looking to escape urban stress and spend time re-connecting with nature, there really is nowhere quite like it. Rise in the morning to the peaceful sounds of the countryside waking up and enjoy a cup of coffee on your private patio. Spend the day pottering around the quaint settlements of Curry Rivel and Langport, and take in the stunning vistas all around. In the evening, cook up a feast in the well appointed kitchen and enjoy the last of the light as you dine outside before soaking in the hot tub under the stars.

Leave a reviewWhat a lovely place! This is the perfect romantic getaway from kids, busy city life and everyday stress. The iglu is lovely, the hot tub was amazing (we actually spent 2 hours in it!) and the service from the owner Jeremy was outstanding - he guided us on how to heat up the hot tub and left a little welcome gift bag with breakfast inside the iglu for us. There’s not much to do around this place which is perfect – this is a place for relaxing and chilling. We will definitely book this iglu again! // Kalle & Suzy.
