Glamping in luxurious safari lodges with a hot tub overlooking a traditional English vineyard and the Shropshire countryside.
Hencote Glamping is owned and managed by Charles Stevens.
Located overlooking a vineyard in the Shropshire countryside, Hencote offers a unique glamping experience in truly luxurious lodges. You won’t have to leave any home comforts behind with underfloor heating in fully equipped bathrooms, king-size beds and a private outdoor wood-fired hot tub with stunning scenery. Set on the highest point of the estate, the views are spectacular, taking in the beautiful vines planted on the banks of the River Severn below, and you can see right out to the rooftops of Shrewsbury in the distance.
There are two types of safari tent-style lodge to choose from, the Superior Lodges or the Luxury Lodges. The Superior Lodges feature a king-sized bedroom, a double bunk room and a kiddies hideaway. The hideaway can sleep two children under the age of six, making these lodges a great choice for larger families with young children. If you’re travelling as a couple or bringing one or two children along, the Luxury Lodges might be better suited, with a king-sized bedroom and a mezzanine floor with two single mattresses.
You’ll find a spacious living and dining area with a kitchenette that has all the basics to get you going including a toaster, microwave, minifridge and a kettle. Enjoy cosy evenings in curled up with a book on the sofa in front of the wood-burning stove. There’s also a fully-equipped bathroom with luxurious underfloor heating, a walk-in shower and a roll-top bath.
Each lodge has its own outdoor terrace with gorgeous views over Hencote’s vineyard and out to the rolling Shropshire countryside. There’s also a wood-fired hot tub where you can sit out and enjoy the sunset, perhaps while sampling a glass of the local wine.
There’s plenty to do right on your doorstep. Spend sunny afternoons with your feet up on the veranda or relaxing in the hot tub. Book yourself on to a tour of the vineyard and winery, learn about how a traditional English winery is run and finish up with a tasting of five wines. If you want to explore further afield, there are beautiful walks in the surrounding countryside and woodlands which will help you work up an appetite for a delicious dinner at The View Restaurant.
