This modern and stylish flint cottage, a short stroll from the harbour, two excellent pubs, the village shops & cafe makes the perfect destination for groups wanting to experience a relaxing seaside holiday in a tranquil setting. Situated on a quiet road, this one-storey, L-shaped home surrounds a lovely lawned garden which backs on to the pretty Norfolk countryside.
Start the day with a morning coffee in the garden on the comfy patio furniture listening to the birdsong, feeling the first rays of the day on the face and maybe taking some quiet moments before the rest of the group surface.
Head inside for breakfast, the ground floor is a light and bright open plan area with a vaulted ceiling, the garden is easily accessible via a wall of bifold doors. Sunlight pours through ceiling windows onto the large dining table where guests can tuck into holiday breakfasts and enjoy great views across the garden.
The kitchen area is wonderfully well-equipped so there is no problem feeding the troops, from simple snacks to multi-course celebratory meals. Fire up the range oven for a cooked breakfast while the American-style fridge keeps the provisions fresh. A useful kitchen island offers plenty of space for extra hands to pitch in with the prep. After breakfast, relax on the comfy sofas in the welcoming lounge area while decisions are made on how to spend the day.
Pack the swimmers and the bucket and spade for a stroll to the beach, just a few minutes drive away in neighbouring Brancaster, for sea swimming, sandcastling and exploring the breathtaking coastal path. On the way home, be sure to pick up bags of fresh Brancaster mussels from the local fishermen for dinner.
Back at Flint Cottage and wash off the sea and sand under the two outdoor showers, before tucking into steaming bowls of mussels on the patio washed down with crisp white wine as the sun sets over the fields. Should the weather turn chilly, head inside to the cosy snug room for a late movie before heading to bed.
There are five exquisite bedrooms, two ensuite, three have king size beds, with one twin room and a further bunk room which little ones will love. There is a family bathroom with a large bathtub and rainfall shower and a further shower just off the utility room if a warm shower is needed to rinse off the sand.
Brancaster Staithes boasts wonderful walks and fantastic wildlife including many varieties of bird and there are lots of sandy beaches perfect for seaside days.
And when it's time to eat, there are lots of options too. Brancaster Staithe is home to two popular pubs, The Jolly Sailors and The White Horse, for relaxed evenings with good pub food. There is a café at Deepdale Market just a couple of minutes away, along with an excellent convenience store for supplies, a petrol station and some excellent independent shops & galleries to relieve you of your holiday money. Over at nearby Burnham Market, there are more pubs and restaurants including the popular Hoste Arms.
