You should know

• Traveling with little ones? The owners are happy to provide a travel cot and highchair on request. The single bedroom comfortably sleeps one adult or two children.
• Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome - just add them to your booking for £50 per dog.

Situated in the stunning Northumberland countryside, this marvellous cottage is surrounded by miles and miles of undulating hills and is only a short drive from the stunning coast. Inside, the cottage is beautifully decorated and furnished, offering a cosy and tranquil home from home for groups of up to five adults or four adults and two children.

This newly built cottage sits on the site of a former mill and offers a fab setting for rest and relaxation. The open-plan living space is ideal for you to spread out and socialise together and is flooded with natural light thanks to the big sliding glass doors that open up onto your private patio.

In summer, open these up and let the outside in, as you perch at the kitchen island with a drink watching your loved one preparing a hearty feast. The kitchen itself is lovingly equipped with modern appliances, meaning you have everything you need to cook delicious meals during your stay. There’s also a Nespresso coffee machine for that all-important first brew of the day.

When dinner is ready, enjoy your meal at the round dining table indoors, or, if the sun is shining, head outside for an alfresco dining experience with a beautiful view. The patio is the ideal place to start your day with a fresh coffee, soaking up the morning calm as you plan your next adventure. As evening falls, unwind out here with a drink in hand and watch the sun dip below the horizon.

Back inside, the living room has cosy sinkable sofas where you can chat the day away, or get comfy for a movie night on the Smart TV, which is equipped with Netflix.

When night falls, the cottage has three stylish bedrooms, each designed for comfort and relaxation. The first features a plush king size bed and a sleek ensuite with a luxurious bath and overhead rain shower. The second offers flexible sleeping arrangements with zip-and-link beds, easily set up as a twin or a double, plus a spacious ensuite with a double walk-in rain shower. There’s also a cosy single room with a pull-out bed, perfect for two children (under 12) or one adult. Both master bedrooms open directly onto the garden, inviting you to step out and soak up the fresh air and the bathrooms feature bath products by Noble Isle & Laura Thomas Co.

During your stay you can stargaze to your heart’s content. Northumberland’s gold-tier Dark Sky status makes it one of the world’s best spots for stargazing, where the Milky Way and shooting stars put on a nightly show. By day, keep an eye out for deer, hares, pheasants and soaring birds.

If adventure calls, step straight onto countryside trails or take a short drive to Northumberland’s stunning sandy beaches. The charming village of Lowick, just minutes away, offers two fantastic pubs and a well-stocked village shop.

Further afield, explore the historic Holy Island, majestic Bamburgh Castle, the wildlife-rich Farne Islands or the market town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, where you’ll find horse riding, surfing, fishing and golf.
