Just a short stroll over the dunes from Bamburgh Beach, one the most celebrated and picturesque beaches in England, Waterford is a New England style family home, available to rent as a coastal self-catering cottage, for up to seven adult guests and a child. With a gorgeous décor, contemporary amenities, plenty of outdoor spaces and close proximity to a long sandy beach, Waterford is popular with families and groups of friends looking to spend time in the beautiful county of Northumberland.
The house itself is arranged around a central downstairs space which acts as an open plan living room, kitchen and dining room. This space has access out on to the private patio, which comes with sun loungers as well as a full outdoor dining set up for up to eight guests. There really is nothing like enjoying your dinner with a glass of wine on the patio as the sun sets. The main living space is the room where most guests tend to congregate at the start and end of every day. It features abundant soft furniture arranged around the wood-burning stove, as well as a full formal dining table and chairs. There is a Smart TV in this space with Disney plus, Amazon Prime and Netflix, as well as a BluRay player, plenty of books, films and a selection of games and jigsaw puzzles. The kitchen is a real delight to cook in, with hand built Neptune units, granite work surfaces and a full suit of appliances from Siemens and Bosch, creating the perfect environment for whipping up a feast for a large group of hungry holidaymakers.
Upstairs, the principal suite contains a super-king sized bed in a large bedroom with plenty of storage and fantastic views. Off this room, which also features a Blu-Ray player and Smart TV, you'll find the en-suite shower room. Also upstairs is another bedroom with a king-sized bed, a third room with two full sized single beds convertible into a super-king, and a full sized single bedroom. There's also a family bathroom on this level with a walk-in shower, ultra-luxurious tub, and even underfloor heating.
Aside from the sandy beach just across the dunes, accessible in seconds, there's a wealth of entertainment and culinary options available in the Bamburgh area, whatever your tastes. Take a boat trip to the famous wildlife haven of the Farne Islands, visit Holy Island, head for a hike in the Cheviot Hills, or explore and compare the castles in Bamburgh, Alnwick and Lindisfarne. Barter Books in nearby Alnwick is well worth checking out too. For a special meal you'll probably need to book in advance, check out The Potted Lobster, while The Lord Crewe Arms is more casual, but offers brilliant food, as does the Ship Inn in further afield Low Newton.
