Tucked away, along one of Venice’s iconic canals, you’ll find this beautiful apartment with views of the water and its own terrace. The newly refurbished interior takes the best parts of the original building and combines these with modern furnishings. The result is a relaxing, contemporary space that still feels connected with the city's rich history. Located in the Cannaregio district, there’s plenty to discover right on your doorstep. After a busy day exploring Venice, put your feet up in the spacious open-plan living area or take your dinner out to the terrace and watch the sunset over the rooftops.
The apartment is set over several levels, opening out onto a large open-plan living and kitchen space on the lowest level. There are high ceilings, exposed brick walls and beautiful beams across the ceiling, harking back to the grandeur of the original building and creating a wonderful sense of space. Step straight out onto the terrace from the dining area which has a table and chairs for four where you can enjoy your meals in the sunshine.
Tucked away behind the kitchen, you’ll find the king size bedroom with velvet curtains and luxurious bedding. Step back up towards the hallway and you’ll find the bathroom, finished with elegant dark green tiles and featuring a rainfall shower. The second bedroom is located at the top of a beautiful spiral staircase and has twin beds and a desk in case you need a quiet spot to sit with a book or your laptop. If you need sleeping space for any more guests, the sofa converts into an additional bed.
The apartment is located in the historic, northern district of the city, known as the Cannaregio district. There’s plenty to discover in this part of Venice, including the oldest Jewish Ghetto in the world which is still home to a thriving Jewish community and three of its synagogues are open to the public. If you want to explore the centre of the city hop on a Vaporetto, or taxi boat, and head off to the Rialto Bridge or St Mark’s Square. In the evenings, stroll down the Rio della Misericordia, the canal by which the apartment is located, towards Fondamenta degli Ormesini. You’ll find the many bars and terraces that line the canal come to life, offering Venetian aperitifs or a waterfront location for dinner.
