This secluded bolthole on the side of a Scottish loch boasts views across the water out to the mountains, and provides a peaceful base in the epic Highlands for couples or those travelling solo. The Batbox has been expertly hand-crafted to make the most of its serene, natural surroundings, with the environment at its heart, only using locally sourced and sustainable materials where possible. Its facilities ensure guests can feel at home, with modern fixtures and cosy interiors, leaving visitors to soak up the stunning views and set out for a day of adventure knowing they have a little haven to nestle into when they return.
Although compact, it is surprising just what can fit into such an eco-friendly cabin. The spacious living room and kitchen are bathed in natural light that floods in via the floor-to-ceiling windows that make up one side of the cabin. Facing out to the loch and mountains, guests could be forgiven for just sitting and taking it all in right from the comfort of their accommodation. With oak floors and a wooden theme throughout, the interiors are in-keeping with the nature surrounding it. A comfy double bedroom is no frills, yet so delightful in its simplicity, with a super-comfy bed that guarantees a fab night's sleep. Guests need not sacrifice their home comforts thanks to the modern and stylish shower room and separate WC, ideal after a day of trekking.
Set in the small village of Inverkirkaig near the quaint fishing port of Lochinver, the Batbox is ideally positioned to make the most of the local white sand beaches, unique wildlife and local food delicacies, including fresh seafood and some very famous pies! From here, visitors can drive on the North Coast 500 route, discovering spectacular scenery in the north west Highlands Geopark. Avid hillwalkers will not be disappointed by Suilven Mountain, while gentle strollers can amble along peacefully by the River Inver. Of course, the rest of the Scottish Highlands are ready and waiting to be explored, too.
