The stunning 10 Castle Street is a Grade II Listed Palladian Mansion which dates back to the eighteenth century. It is now a luxury country house, the perfect setting for a weekend escape. Set on the edge of Cranborne Chase in Dorset and steeped in history, charm and tradition, 10 Castle Street offers guests the best of countryside elegance and luxury.
There are 11 unique and beautifully styled ensuite bedrooms, each with its own character. Sumptuous super king-size beds, marble bathrooms, freestanding bathtubs and an eclectic mix of artwork all add to the feeling of opulence. The rooms also have delightful views over the grounds and gardens which are just as grand as the house itself. Dogs are also welcome and are very well catered for with luxury dog beds and treats available.
Guests can spread out and relax in the opulent, spacious living areas. With giant, comfy sofas, wood burning fireplaces, and lots of room to unwind, there's plenty of options when it comes to relaxing. Guests might want to wander the grounds, enjoy a drink up at the bar, or play a game of snooker with their friends.
There are a number of other facilities on-site, including a dining room where a chef is available on request to prepare meals for guests. Many of the vegetables are grown in the hotel’s own gardens, each fish is hand-picked from the local fishmonger in Poole and bread comes from the village bakery. There is also a bar, a wine shop, a lovely terrace and gardens to enjoy.
You’ll find a magnificent collection of artwork on display at 10 Castle Street, including works by Banksy and Damien Hirst. Art is such an integral part of the decor that some of the walls have been hand-painted by a local artist or even gilded.
10 Castle Street is located in the beautiful village of Cranborne in East Dorset and the area has a rich history. It was once a favourite hunting ground of medieval kings and also has links to ‘Tess of the D’Urbervilles’, Thomas Hardy’s classic. There’s plenty to explore nearby as it’s close to the historic town of Salisbury, home to Britain’s tallest cathedral. Stonehenge, the Jurassic Coast and the New Forest are also all within easy distance for a day trip. So whether you fancy a day at the beach, a long countryside walk or getting a bit of culture, there’s a whole range of activities on offer.
