Tokoeka PurePod is situated amidst lush native bush in an eco-sanctuary teeming with birdlife, including the famous kiwi. This beautiful sanctuary is located on the breathtaking Rakiura Stewart Island, a part of the southern-most Dark Sky Reserve and offers couples or solo travellers a spectacular place to relax and unwind.
From the PurePod, you'll be treated to stunning views of the native bush surroundings and magical vistas down to the bay below. Experience beautiful sunsets, engage in star-gazing and wake up to the gentle chorus of birdsong and sunlight reflecting off the water. The PurePod provides a unique opportunity for kiwi spotting from the comfort of its interior, thanks to special red lighting.
Embark on your journey to Tokoeka PurePod with a choice between a scenic 15-minute flight from Invercargill or a 60-minute ferry ride from Bluff. Upon reaching the island, you can opt to walk, hire a bike, or take a taxi for the remaining 4km to the entrance of the Mamaku Point Conservation Reserve.
Privacy is a hallmark of the Tokoeka PurePod experience. From the moment you arrive you can immerse yourself in peaceful birdsong and captivating natural scenery, creating an environment conducive to total relaxation.
With no one nearby, you can leisurely sit back, relax, soak in the views and relish spectacular sunsets while keeping an eye out for kiwi.
Equipped with all the necessary facilities, the PurePod includes a fabulous shower, flush toilet, crisp linen, cooking and eating equipment, a gas hob and BBQ, along with tea, coffee and milk. Entertainment options abound with an assortment of games, local reference books, a telescope and the luxury of having nothing specific to do.
You are provided with some delicious food during your stay including a scrumptious snack platter of cheese, olives, sundried tomatoes, crackers, hummus and dips using local ingredients is available. The chef's selection (ready for you to cook on either the gas cooktop or BBQ) is accompanied with gourmet potatoes and seasonal vegetable kebabs or fresh salad. To finish the evening meal, there is a scrumptious sweet treat.
