Located in the pretty Somerset village of Long Sutton, The Threshing Barn is perfect for groups of friends and rural escapes with the whole family. You’ll be able to go for a dip in the heated pool or while away the afternoons in the hot tub. Go for long walks along the footpaths, stopping off at one of the pubs for a taste of the local cider along the way, or challenge the family to a table tennis or table football tournament.
Step inside and you’ll find this beautiful old farm building has been expertly converted into a holiday home with a relaxed, contemporary feel. You can still see original features of the barn such as the drive belt slot for the old threshing machine, now converted into a window, while plenty of luxurious touches have been added. The interior feels bright and spacious with high ceilings and exposed beams in the lounge and the kitchen. There’s room for 15 around the dining table and big squishy sofas are gathered around a log burner in the lounge, the perfect spot to put your feet up.
There are six bedrooms and five bathrooms spread across the main Threshing Barn and a smaller Courtyard Barn. There are two ensuite bedrooms in the Threshing Barn, one king with an ensuite and one room that can be set up as a super king or twin. There’s also a double and a final room that can be set up as a super king, twin or triple, offering plenty of flexibility for groups. Both of the bedrooms in the Courtyard Barn can be set up with super king beds or as twin singles and they have beautiful sliding barn doors that lead to ensuite bathrooms.
Outside, you’ll find a lovely garden area, ideal for a BBQ in the sunshine and with views across the countryside. You can sit back and relax in your private hot tub which is in a covered area so you can enjoy it whatever the weather. There’s also a sauna and a games area with table tennis, table football and a pool table. You’ll find the heated swimming pool in a walled garden. This is a shared facility but private sessions can be arranged.
The Threshing Barn is located in a beautiful part of south Somerset with plenty of exploring to be done in the area. Visit Glastonbury and learn about the legends of King Arthur or go for a walk amidst the unique landscapes of Cheddar Gorge or the Somerset Levels. There are plenty of pubs within walking distance of the house including one overlooking the village green of Long Sutton. If you fancy a change of scene, head to Street and snap up some deals at the factory outlets or drive to the coast for a day at the beach.
