The Pool House is a truly magnificent home on the outskirts of Gorssel in The Netherlands. Supremely stylish and modern inside, the home is surrounded by a lush walled garden that’s filled with bamboo and rhododendron. Towering trees frame this picturesque estate, and add to the peace and tranquillity of your stay. Add to this the beautiful, unheated natural swimming pool and you’ve got a remarkably serene escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Inside, the grand open plan living space makes use of super high ceilings, exposed brickwork walls and gigantic windows that flood the space with natural light. The windows and sliding glass doors look out over the pool to the flowers and trees beyond. When the weather’s warm, slide open the glass doors and let the outside in. And when it’s cool outside, light the wood-burning stove and stay toasty and warm by the fire on the big, comfy sofa.
The open plan, loft-style living space also features a sleek and modern kitchen with a bar where you can sit and keep the designated chef company.
Just outside the home lies a serene, unheated natural swimming pool, complete with a 13-metre swimming lane. Equipped with a helophyte filter using lava stones and yellow lis, this eco-friendly pool purifies its water naturally. In warmer months, the water heats up quickly, reaching a comfortable 18 degrees by May—perfect for a refreshing swim. For the adventurous, year-round swimming is an option!
Back inside, there are two fab bedrooms on offer. The first is on the ground floor and sleeps two guests in a double bed with an ensuite bathroom for added privacy. The second bedroom is tucked above the bathroom in a charming loft space with a three-person bed, making the home ideal for families or small groups.
Finished with elegant Frake Noir wood, which is thermally modified for durability and style, the house is both modern and inviting. A heat pump ensures hot water for cosy evenings and refreshing coolness during the summer months.
