The Old School House sits against the glorious backdrop of Dartmoor, with the old stone walls standing the test of time on the windswept landscape. But there are no boring maths lessons or strict teachers here, the recently converted school is now a beacon of fun and a place to make memories with large groups of friends and family. Sit out on the terrace, sink into one of the two hot tubs, get competitive with friends over a game of table tennis, pool or darts and host grand meals long into the night in the spacious dining room. With space for up to 24 guests across seven bedrooms, it’s the perfect Dartmoor escape.

As you enter through the main entrance, the open plan kitchen/dining area comes into view, leading onto the vast living area. The two seating areas have luxury sofas to sink into. One is perfect for chatting and relaxing with loved ones, while the other features a huge 86-inch smart TV that’s the ideal spot to sit back under a blanket and watch a movie. Moving through the house, the open plan kitchen and dining area is the heart of the home. Fully equipped with everything you need to feed all guests, it’s where you’ll make memories and reconnect with the ones you love. In the summer months, why not fire up the BBQ or pizza oven, or take your meals outside for some alfresco dining on the large terrace?

The secure garden is ideal for the kids (or dogs!) to run around in and features plenty of grass as well as a climbing frame, slide and mature bushes that are perfect for a game of hide and seek. For the adults, catch some rays on the terrace or pour a glass of something cold and sink into one of the twin hot tubs as the sun sets over the Devon countryside.

When it’s time to head to bed, the seven bedrooms have enough space for everyone to rest tired heads. A mix of super king, king size, doubles and twin/bunk rooms feature luxury bedding and soft mattresses for a good night’s sleep. Two of the bedrooms are located in an annexe (separated via internal door) where you will find a super king bedroom and one of the bunk bed rooms, and an additional kitchen/diner - perfect for those with very young children or who need their own space.

Nestled between Dartmoor National Park and The Tamar Valley AONB, in the charming village of Horrabridge, The Old School House is the perfect base to explore South Devon and Cornwall. Hikers and bikers can take in miles of trails across the stunning landscape or summit some of the famous tors including Haytor, Belstone, Birch and The Great Links among others. The village of Horrabridge features pubs, restaurants and local shops for the essentials, while the bustling city of Plymouth is easily accessible by car. Further afield, the resort towns of Torquay and Paignton, and the charming town of Brixham - with its traditional harbour - are great for a day spent exploring.
