Swing in the hammock, dangle toes in the water and watch Kingfishers swoop and dive, all whilst drifting off to the gentle sound of the breeze in the willows at The Kingfisher Houseboat. This beautiful lakeside cabin is the perfect spot to unwind, relax and leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Sitting in a dell by the water's edge, this timber cabin will enchant guests from the moment they lay eyes on it. A little chimney protrudes from the curved tin roof where solar panels lie in a prime position to maximise the energy on sunny days.
A wonderful wooden deck stretches around the edge of the cabin giving guests direct access to the water. A hammock hangs invitingly from the wooden canopy which provides shade in the summer and protection should any raindrops fall. Stylish wicker furniture offers guests a place to sit and relax, or eat meals outdoors, never missing a moment of this stunning location.
The interior is no less exquisite. The open plan living area has a stylish wooden kitchen which has everything guests could need for cooking everything from simple breakfasts to full roast dinners. A porthole window lies above the sink giving the washer-upper a great view while they are getting on with the dishes.
There is a 'shabby chic' dining table with chairs for four people and this a great indoor alternative for mealtimes, should the weather outside turn unfavourable. A wood burner and thick curtains keeps the cabin cosy and warm on cooler nights and create a romantic atmosphere to unwind in. A large corner sofa, which handily converts to a double bed, faces patio windows. Throw them wide open and let the morning sunshine stream in and enjoy the first coffee of the day from the comfort of the sofa.
There is a further double bedroom with a quality mattress and linens. The bed also faces patio doors making it the most relaxing spot to fall to sleep. The cabin has a toilet and modern shower room, and luxury toiletries are provided alongside fluffy towels.
Guests will have to drag themselves away from the lovely cabin but for meals out and day trips there is plenty to do. Pembrokeshire is home to some of the UK's most beautiful beaches. The coastal paths are well-worth exploring and in early Summer it's possible to take bot trips to spot Puffins. When it's time to eat, stroll to The Cressilly Arms at Cresswell Quay, or make the short drive to the Lawrenny Arms for locally sourced food. The seafood shack, Cafe Mor, on Freshwater West Beach, is also well worth the visit.

The Kingfisher offered a magical family weekend to remember. The house boat was fully equiped with everything we needed- including use of a bbq and even a kayak to explore our very own private lake. Very clean and well presented. Adults and kids alike enjoyed being surrounded by nature- we watched Herron glide in and out daily, shallows and swifts feed at dawn and dusk, bats at night, swam next to ducklings and had daily visits from the resident moorhen literally on our 'doorstep'. We couldn't have asked for a better family break. Highly recommended!
