Riad Farnatchi was converted by the current owner’s father, an award winning British hotelier, who began restoring this riad for his own family, before turning it into a beautiful riad for guests to stay. And inside you’ll find this a true home from home, with large, luxurious suites all stylishly and uniquely decorated, and all with handmade beds and deliciously soft Egyptian cotton sheets. The furniture, whilst fabulously designed, is also comfortable – possibly a ‘first’ amongst Riads in the Medina! The bedrooms have adjustable lighting that can be romantic and practical, rather than one or the other, and on hot nights you’ll appreciate air conditioning, as well as central heating for when the temperature drops. There’s also satellite TV, a Bose iPod dock, on-demand movies and free Wi-Fi. All rooms have an en suite bathroom and some suites even have a private patio for sitting outside to watch the sunset, or soaking up the sunshine in the day. And when it gets too cold to sit out, enjoy your own private sitting area in your suite, many suites even have a real log fire to keep you cosy.

All guests can use the collection of rooms on the ground floor. All are traditionally proportioned and the B’hous (covered sitting area with one side open to an internal courtyard) allows guests to either meet together in groups or to find your own private corner to chat, read or enjoy a cool drink. Quite uniquely, almost every piece of furniture has been specially designed and made for Riad Farnatchi in Marrakech, and the style reflects a fascinating fusion of traditional Moroccan and modern European design. Downstairs, there’s also a delicious Moroccan restaurant and a bar.

You’ll find this the ideal location to stay, with Marrakech Museum and the Ben Youssef Madrasa both only two minutes’ walk away. So get outside and go wandering, get your bearings in the souks, find that perfect kaftan or carpet, or tour the medina. You’ll also find plenty of opportunities to get active with bike hire available, as well as opportunities for canoeing, hiking, cycling and horse riding further afield. The hotel is also only a short distance from Marrakech Train Station and 6.2 miles from Marrakech – Menara Airport.
