On the beautiful coastline of Southern Italy is Masseria Mongio - an exclusive place to relax and unwind. Situated in Salento near the crystal clear waters of Baia dei Turchi, this tranquil location is the ideal setting for those who want to get away from it all.
There are 17 unique suites to choose from, each sharing a style and design but still maintaining their individuality. Elegance and class exudes throughout, while there are eco-conscious touches with many using local materials including Lecce stone and reclaimed timber. Each also has a private garden or terrace, often enjoying shade from the bay trees which dominate the landscape and panoramic views of the vineyard. These are complete with outdoor furniture and a gazebo.
Five of the suites sleep between three and four guests, with each having a double bedroom and a living room with a sofa bed. There is also a kitchenette area and a bathroom with a shower. A sixth suite in a similar style, Torre Santo Stefano, only sleeps three people.
Then there are the three Junior Deluxe Suites, with each set across two floors and also sleeping three to four guests, with a double bedroom, sofa bed, and bathroom. Finally, there are two Executive suites. These larger options are great for groups of family or friends. The Turkish-inspired 1480 is the largest, sleeping up to six people with two double bedrooms, a sofa bed in the living area, and two bathrooms. Prunus is slightly smaller, with one double bedroom, one single bedroom, a sofa bed, and two bathrooms.
Masseria Mongio also has a stunning restaurant, with indoor and outdoor seating, serving traditional Italian cuisine from the region. Ingredients are sourced locally, with close proximity to the water giving the menu a seafood influence - while there is a cellar full of quality Apulian wine to accompany the food.
But the luxury doesn’t end there, with an on-site relaxation area and spa for the exclusive use of those staying. Called the Ipogeo, it includes a large spa bath, Turkish bath, sauna, and herbal tea corner. Massages are also available, which guests can either enjoy in their room, or on the terrace overlooking the bay - which is only a short walk from the resort.
