Enjoy a peaceful stay in this charming cottage in the heart of St Dogmaels, Pembrokeshire. Surrounded by history and charm, this four-person cottage acts as an amazing base from which to explore the incredible surrounding countryside and coastlines that Pembrokeshire has to offer.
Lovingly renovated, Ivy Cottage blends rustic character with modern comfort, offering a welcoming and well-equipped space perfect for relaxation and adventure alike.
Step inside and you’ll find a lovely cosy lounge with bold colours and an electric log-effect fireplace. Get comfy on the sofa or armchair and tuck into a good book with a morning cuppa. Or gather here in the evening with a glass of wine and chat long into the night. You can also switch on the 50-inch Smart TV and enjoy a movie night or box set marathon, ideal when the weather outside is not co-operating.
Prepare hearty meals in the nicely equipped, modern kitchen, or simply perch at the breakfast bar with a drink in hand as your loved one gets dinner ready. When the weather’s warm, step out into the garden and play games on the expansive lawn. Or get comfy on the outdoor seating as you breathe in the fresh Pembrokeshire air.
As night falls, head up to one of the two charming and cosy bedrooms, both of which offer a peaceful night’s sleep. One of the bedrooms features a double bed, whilst the other has a double that can also be converted into twins if needed. The family bathroom has a bath, with a shower over it, as well as a WC, hand basin and a heated towel rail.
St Dogmaels sits on the northern edge of Pembrokeshire, just a short distance from the bustling market town of Cardigan. Here, you’ll find two cosy pubs, a local shop and the village's own working flour mill, renowned for its delicious homemade bread. A stroll through the village leads you to the historic Abbey, whose stones were once part of Ivy Cottage itself. The nearby Tuesday market offers the best of Pembrokeshire’s produce, with everything from fresh fish to local honey.
For beach lovers, Poppit Sands is just a two-minute drive away, located at the mouth of the Teifi Estuary. This stunning beach marks the beginning of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, a 186-mile trail winding along the spectacular coastline to Amroth in the south. Cardigan town, only a-mile-and-a-half from the cottage, is full of independent shops, cafés and pubs, as well as the iconic Cardigan Castle and riverside walks. Whether you’re in the mood to explore art galleries or simply relax with a coffee by the river, this vibrant town offers something for everyone, rain or shine.
