This modern retreat in the Wiltshire countryside offers a romantic retreat overlooking the picturesque Chalke Valley. A big open plan studio, the Calf Shed features a giant wall of glass that perfectly frames the view and floods the living area in natural light. In summer, slide open the giant glass door and let the outside in as you take in your surroundings in style and come winter, the underfloor heating will keep your toes toasty and warm as frost gathers outdoors.
The modern open plan living space features a lounge area at one end, with a big comfy corner sofa that you can sink into with a good book and a nice cup of tea. This is also a great spot to chat long into the night as you watch the sunset through the big windows. If it’s warm out, you can slide open the glass doors and step out onto your private patio, where you can unwind in the fresh country air as you gaze out across the historic downlands. There’s a BBQ here, should you wish to get grilling and a tranquil garden for lounging in the sunshine in peace.
The open plan living space is also where you’ll find the contemporary kitchen, which is nicely equipped with everything you need to prepare hearty feasts during your stay. Just off the kitchen is the rustic dining table that perfectly sets the scene for long hearty meals that stretch into the night.
When night falls, the luxurious bedroom has an electric profiling bed which can be arranged as a king size or twin as required.
The Calf Shed has been purposely designed and built to be accessible, offering a one-level space and a wheelchair accessible kitchen and shower room.
The property sits on a beautiful working farm. And if you venture out, you can explore the beautiful countryside with scenic walks, cycling routes and charming villages, stopping at traditional pubs and restaurants offering locally sourced food. There is also an accessible coffee shop on site, serving delicious coffee and brunch, and they can also deliver and cater, to ensure you have a relaxing stay.
Nearby historic market towns include Bath, with its Roman baths and Georgian architecture; Shaftesbury, home to the iconic Gold Hill; and Salisbury, featuring its magnificent cathedral. Attractions such as the ancient Stonehenge and the New Forest National Park provide stunning landscapes, wildlife and outdoor activities.
