Tucked away in quiet woodland in the Fife countryside and perched above the Eden Estuary, Bracken Treehouse is a peaceful retreat for couples. The cleverly designed cabin sits on stilts, emerging from the Airdit woodland and offering stunning views from the canopy of the trees. Inside, you’ll find a cosy hideaway, packed with unique touches such as the full-length shower window and the skylight above the bed so you can really make the most of your surroundings. Outside, there’s a luxurious outdoor bath, the perfect spot to relax after a long walk in the woods or along Fife’s breathtaking coastline.
You'll find the treehouse on a south-facing cliff, surrounded by 30 acres of rugged Scottish woodland. It’s been designed to let in plenty of natural light through large windows which also offer stunning views over the tree canopy. Put your feet up in front of the wood-burner in the open-plan living area and soak it all up from the comfort of the sofa. In the mornings, you’ll be able to open the blinds and enjoy the scenery through the huge floor-to-ceiling window at the foot of the bed. There’s also a skylight positioned above the bed so you can do some stargazing in the spectacular dark skies in complete comfort.
Despite the remote location, there’s no need to compromise on any modern conveniences and you’ll find the bathroom and kitchen both fully equipped with everything you’ll need. Enjoy the view through the full-length window from the hot shower or from the outdoor bath set out on the deck, surrounded by the trees.
No matter what time of year you choose to visit, Airdit Woods is a spectacular setting for a romantic escape. In the spring and summer, stroll through the trees surrounded by foxgloves and ferns and you might catch a glimpse of the red squirrels in the treetops. In the autumn, you might be lucky enough to spot the deer making their way through the woods, camouflaged by the colour of the falling leaves.
If you want to venture further into Fife’s countryside there are plenty more walking opportunities, including along the stunning coast or in Tentsmuir Forest. St Andrews is also nearby with its picturesque university campus and home to the oldest golf course in the world. Discover the town’s medieval past with a visit to the ruins of St Andrews Cathedral and Castle or stroll through the centre, stopping off at independent shops, cafes and restaurants along the way.
