Escape to the stunning natural beauty of the Scottish Highlands with a stay at Aspen Lodge. You'll find this charming lodge nestled into the hillside overlooking Loch Sunart on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula with panoramic views over the water and to the moorland and hills beyond. Spend your days exploring castles and the lighthouse nearby, or strolling along picturesque beaches while on the lookout for otters and even dolphins. Relax in the large garden with its stream and waterfalls and enjoy the view with a cup of tea or even a dram of local whisky. In the evenings, you'll be able to stargaze in the spectacular dark skies, snuggle up in front of the open fire or enjoy a soak in one of the baths.
The lodge was built using local stone and Norwegian spruce trees sourced from the peninsula. The contemporary design of the interior combines modern comforts with traditional Scottish charm. The open-plan living space features huge, double-height windows that flood the room with natural light and offer uninterrupted views of the surrounding scenery. After a dinner cooked in the fully-equipped kitchen, get a fire going in the beautiful stone fireplace and snuggle up on the sofa to enjoy the view as the sun sets.
There are three luxurious ensuite bedrooms, all overlooking the loch and the surrounding landscape. You'll find the main bedroom on the ground floor with its super-king size bed and floor-to-ceiling windows. In the bathroom, you can indulge in a relaxing soak in the bath while taking in the breathtaking scenery. Head upstairs to find the other two bedrooms, one of which has another super-king size bed while the other can be set up as a twin or a double. Between the two rooms, you'll find a snug with beanbags where you can sit back and relax with a book after a long walk or get stuck into a board game.
On warmer days, open up the large sliding doors out to the spacious garden where you can while away a lazy afternoon soaking up the sunshine. There's a hand-crafted stone BBQ where you can rustle up a delicious lunch while enjoying the fresh air. As the evening draws in, you'll find that the stars put on quite the show on clear nights in the dark skies above the lodge.
There's plenty of exploring to do in the area, whether you're interested in history, wildlife or want to try some of the local whisky. Head out on walks in the nearby forests or along the rugged coastline to be in with a chance of spotting Scottish wildcats, pine martens, golden eagles, otters, whales and dolphins. For some stunning views of the Hebridean Islands, visit the Ardnamurchan Lighthouse on the most westerly point of mainland Britain. Castle Tioram is also worth a visit for history buffs, perched on the banks of Loch Moidart, it offers a glimpse into the area's past as well as a picturesque spot for a picnic. You can also take a scenic boat trip to Staffa Island to see the puffins, go for a trip on the Jacobite steam train over the Glenfinnan Viaduct or visit the Ardnamuchan Distillery for a tour and a tasting.

Leave a reviewAspen Lodge was an absolutely breathtaking lodge and the perfect holiday location. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded expectations. The lodge’s large floor-to-ceiling windows showcase stunning views of the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, creating an incredible backdrop. The luxurious yet cosy interior made it feel like a true home away from home. We’re so grateful to the owners for allowing us to host our wedding there—it couldn’t have been more perfect, especially surrounded by the beauty of the Scottish Highlands. The lodge itself is beautifully designed with countless thoughtful touches that made our stay so special. A generous welcome hamper greeted us upon arrival, and the incredibly well-equipped kitchen had everything we needed, including a coffee machine and milk frother for the perfect morning coffee. The kids were thrilled with the games den, which included popcorn, books, and plenty of entertainment, while we enjoyed relaxing evenings with the cosy fire, comfortable furniture, and underfloor heating. The large baths were a luxurious treat, and the spacious garden provided magical moments, especially when snow fell or when deer wandered in during the evenings. Every amenity was superbly catered for, with a washing machine, dryer, dishwasher and more, making our stay both relaxing and practical. Christine’s homemade cake and jam were delicious, and her thoughtful courtesy call before our arrival added such a warm, personal touch. We also appreciated the extra crafts available for purchase for the kids and the option to buy additional logs for the fire. The hosts were exceptional, providing helpful information and going above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Their attention to detail and care truly made Aspen Lodge feel unique and welcoming. The surrounding area is simply stunning, offering a peaceful countryside escape. Aspen Lodge’s cosy yet boutique, luxurious feel made our stay unforgettable. We can’t wait to return!
