This elegant Maison de Maître is tucked away in the tranquil countryside of southern France, a short drive from the charming market town of Clermont l'Hérault. With a central courtyard, complete with a gently trickling fountain, this beautifully furnished manor house offers the perfect blend of historical charm and modern comfort. Enjoy the views of the vineyards from the large saltwater infinity pool or relax with a glass of something in the shade of the courtyard. Head out to explore the picturesque surroundings, visit the local villages or enjoy a day trip to Montpellier and the coast. In the evenings, enjoy an alfresco dinner as you watch the sunset over the rolling hills.
Inside, you'll find spacious and tastefully decorated rooms, providing plenty of space for large groups to socialise together or retreat to a quiet spot for a bit of downtime. Relax in the large sitting room with its high ceilings, exposed beams and contemporary log burner, perhaps even trying out a tune or two on the piano. Rustle up a feast in the fully-equipped kitchen, complete with a large island and range cooker. Gather everyone together to eat at the large dining table or head out onto the outdoor dining area on the west side of the house, perfect for watching the sunset.
There are five individually decorated bedrooms, each with its own charm and character. For complete luxury, choose the Master Suite, with its king size bed, chaise longue and roll-top bath. The Library will suit those who like a bit of space to themselves with its own lounge area and shelves packed with books. The Music Room and The Orchard Room both offer a bit of flexibility with the choice of super-king or twin beds. Finally, French Charm will take you back in time with its traditional decor and beautiful walnut sleigh bed.
If you can tear yourselves away from your tranquil retreat, there's plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. Start with a stroll into the local village, Villeneuvette, where you can discover the historic textile factory that once made cloth for Napoleon's army. Clermont l'Hérault is just a short drive away and home to a famous market where you can stock up on the best cheese, wine and charcuterie. Pack a picnic and head down to Lac du Salagou for a day of swimming, kayaking and sailing amongst some beautiful scenery. The coast is also nearby for a day at one of the sandy Mediterranean beaches, fantastic restaurants serving up the freshest seafood or even a trip to the vibrant city of Montpellier.
