Historic charm combines with modern amenities to create an unforgettable getaway in the Greek sunshine at this 19th century tower in the village of Pirgos on the Mani Peninsula. The home also boasts an outdoor space for starting the morning with a cup of coffee or ending the day with a snifter of Ouzo.

The abode has an upside-down layout with the living space on the first floor, where you’ll find natural textures invoking a sense of calm and plush sofas for unwinding during lulls in your itinerary. The adjacent kitchen diner has all the utensils required for cooking Greek-inspired dishes. But it’s the terrace that steals the show here, with its panoramic sea views and a table and chairs for long, lazy alfresco dinners. This is also the perfect place to relax with a drink as you gaze at incredible sunsets with your loved ones after a day out and about exploring this amazing part of Greece.

When night falls and bed time beckons, you can head to the ground floor for two serene bedrooms, each with double beds, ensuring sweet dreams night after night. One of the sleeping quarters is complete with an ensuite for added privacy.

When you’re ready to explore, stroll along the cobblestone streets on your doorstep before taking a tour of the local olive oil factory. If a beach day is in order, jump in the car and take the 10-minute drive to sleepy Stoupa for soft sand and crystal-clear water. The village also features laidback cafes and restaurants for post-swim refreshments.
