Nestled into the quiet Oxfordshire countryside, Buttercup Lodge has the feel of a cabin, with hardwood floors and exposed wood slatted walls. It would be perfect for a small family or friends seeking a tranquil escape with options for days out in nearby Oxford and Reading.
The open plan kitchen, living and dining area is large and spacious and very welcoming. Beautifully decorated in a simple stylish manner, there's a big comfy sofa and easy chair next to the large patio doors overlooking the garden where light streams in in the morning. A wall-mounted flat screen TV is perfectly placed for movie nights with popcorn and there's plenty of room for everyone to unwind and relax.
The kitchen is modern and fully fitted with all the appliances you could need to cook a big breakfast or a fabulous evening meal, which you can enjoy at the large six seater dining table.
The ground floor houses the first bedroom which has twin beds and a family bathroom next door which has a bath with shower overhead, and would be perfect for friends or kids sharing. This is also a good choice for anyone with mobility issues. Upstairs you'll find the south-facing master bedroom has a king size bed and is beautifully decorated, boasting a balcony where you can sit under cover and enjoy your morning coffee and the lovely views of the surrounding countryside. You'll find another bathroom on this level with a spacious walk-in shower.
After a peaceful night's sleep and an invigorating shower, you can head down for coffee and breakfast, which, on a sunny morning, you might like to take on the patio overlooking the garden. The hosts have provided a large table, chairs and a parasol, and this would also be a lovely place to enjoy an alfresco supper with some fine chilled wines.
You can spend your days relaxing at the lodge with a good book, a pack of card and the company of loved ones. And if you want to have some adventures and explore the area, there's plenty to do and see. The lodge is close to The Ridgeway National trail, a 600-metre walk that follows the chalk ridges of North Wessex Downs and Chilterns, has plenty of ancient archeology and has been used for 5,000 years by travellers, herdsmen and soldiers. For a lively day of fun you might like to visit the Wet 'n' Wild aqua park or take a dip in one of the many wild swimming lakes.
Oxford is just 15 miles away should you wish to have a wander round the UK's oldest university, followed by a pint at The Turf. The nearest pubs to the lodge are the Bell Crowmarsh and The Queen's Head, both 1.6 miles away. And Reading is also 15 miles away and great for shopping.
